Alex Robinson: Managing Director

Joined Essell in 1999, having obtained a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Newcastle University. Qualified as a member of ACCA in 2002 and became a fellow of the ACCA in 2007.

He became a Partner in 2004 after training and working as an accounts clerk and became Managing Partner in 2012 and is responsible for a number of clients having gained a wealth of experience over the years in particularly working with sole traders and owner managed limited companies, he also works with a number of small Charites and Community Interest Companies and is very knowledgeable in that field.

Paul Katz: Director

Joined Essell in 2008, having obtained BA (Hons) in Finance and accounting from Newcastle University in 2006. Paul spent a year away from studying working as a qualified swimming instructor. He is responsible for ensuring that the accounts office runs smoothly and works closely with a number of clients following the experience he has gained over the years. He qualified as a member of ACCA in 2011 and became a Director of Essell in 2015.

Kerri Simpson: Accounts Clerk

Joined Essell in 2012 and is a qualified member of the Association of Accountancy Technicians, she is currently working towards the ACCA qualification and has gained valuable experience since joining us. Kerri is responsible for processing clients accounting information.

Mike Hardingham: Tax Manager

Joined Essell in 1993, after computer and administration training, following a 25 year career in the Army latterly as a Warrant Officer. Responsible for processing Income Tax Returns on Iris taxation systems, and data processing clients accounting information.

Janene Horton: Practice Manager

Joined Essell in September 2007 after moving to Newcastle from Manchester and with a background in legal offices was originally employed as our secretary. Since then she left in 2010 to concentrate on her family. Janene re-joined us in April 2012 as Practice Manager and is responsible for the administration and running of the office, she also takes care of the limited company compliance for our clients and is the first point of contact when clients come to the office.

Pauline Sheldon: Payroll Manager

Joined Essell in 2007, following 30 years working in various North East companies. Pauline is responsible for payroll processing and has experience with Sage and Iris Payroll Systems. Pauline is also Company Secretary of a local architectural company which started in 2011.
